Overview of the Network of Christian Life Resources

CHAPTERS
Chapters are usually formed by area congregations and individuals who either operate a Pregnancy Counseling/Life Resource Center, or organize educational efforts for the community. Our Chapters reach over 5000 people annually as they provide pro-life information, as well as a Christian witness. Many of our Chapters are located in the Midwest (particularly in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin), and all of them could use more volunteers to help them carry out their work.
BRANCHES
Branches are congregational groups that provide educational material to their fellow members. Branches also support New Beginnings – A Home for Mothers, equip local pregnancy counseling centers, and assist the national office in a variety of ways. If you don’t have a CLR Branch in your congregation, talk
to me about getting one started.
LIFE WITNESSES
Life Witnesses are the fastest growing group of affiliates. These effective volunteers are able to help in a variety of ways that suit their time and talents. Life Witnesses promote Clearly Caring magazine in their churches, coordinate Change for Life programs, arrange for Life Observance Sundays and share pro-life

PARISH NURSING
Parish Nursing is a unique ministry, but its impact is being felt in many areas of the country. Parish Nursing is wellness-based and non-invasive with a strong spiritual component. Parish nurses are able to coordinate valuable health services, such as blood-pressure screenings, health fairs, informational newsletters and home visitations. CLR NOTE: In 2011, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod began an organization to promote parish nursing in their congregations called the WELS Nurses Association. Click here to learn more!
Although each of these affiliate groups is unique, they fit the overall mission of CLR to use life and family issues as bridges to convey the love of God and to share the message of salvation through Christ. With the dedicated help of these affiliates, we are able to accomplish more work, but much more is still waiting to be done.
The abortion numbers in this country have remained fairly steady at 1.2 million annually, physician-assisted suicide is now legal in three states and being promoted in many more, preborn and newly-born children are often treated like commodities instead of human beings, and end-of-life decisions are more complicated than ever. We clearly have work to do, and our various affiliates help us reach a wider audience.
