2017 CLR Conference Workshop Video Recordings Available for Purchase

For decades Christian Life Resources has been speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the annual Celebration of Life Event of Christian Life Resources took place at the beautiful campus of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin. The theme of the 2017 National Conference was "Our Legacy of Life."
If you were unable to attend the event, CLR is pleased to have the video recording of each workshop available for purchase. You can download the entire day's recordings for $50 or each individual workshop for $10 each.
The day opened with worship led by Pastor Jeremy Husby based on John 10:10. Thieves cannot rob us of the life given to us from God because we ultimately have a place in heaven! In addition, Mr. Stephen Bautista and his daughter, Marissa, provided the Christ-centered musical accompaniment in which they expressed in word and song that every life is precious to God.
In the morning workshops, Dr. Robert Balza, Associate Professor of Biology at Wisconsin Lutheran College, gave an overview in recent advances in stem cell biology as well as the ethical concerns surrounding such research. In the spiritual leader track, Mr. David Bartelt, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School's Administrator, explored the Biblical applications along with family, church, and school partnerships in raising godly children.
The late-morning workshop offerings included: Mr. Alan Uher, teacher at Mount Calvary Lutheran School in Waukesha, WI, on ways to communicate a positive pro-life message to grade school children. Meanwhile, Dr. Kevin Voss, Director of the Center for Bioethics at Concordia Universary - Wisconsin, addressed the issue of In Vitro Fertilization: Do We or Don't We? The mainstream media portrays infertility treatments as pure blessings for parents who cannot have children by natural means. Yet, those treatments are not always ethical. Dr. Voss examined those issues from a Christian perspective to help in a better understanding of the method.
In the plenary session, Mrs. Brianne Hansen, Executive Director of New Beginnings - A Home for Mothers, and resident Letisha provided an excellent overview of the home-for-mothers ministry located in Milwaukee, WI.
The keynote address, presented by Mrs. Carol Tobias, President of National Right to Life, provided a thought-provoking analysis of the pro-life dynamic in "Endless Love: Challenges, Opportunities, and Our Commitment for Life."
In the afternoon workshops that followed:  Wisconsin State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt gave the attendees a glimpse of serving a melting-pot society as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. He has steadfastly fought for and supported pro-life issues during his time of public service. Pastor James Behringer, Vice-Chairman of CLR's National Board, gave a presentation in the spiritual leader track on ministry resources available on life and family issues.
Following the sectionals, the attendees were invited to participate in a panel discussion by Dr. Voss, Mrs. Tobias, and Rep. Thiesfeldt. They addressed questions posed to them on life issues.
Throughout the day separate workshops were held specifically to help those involved with CLR-affiliated pregnancy care centers. The workshop offerings included Mr. Dan Nommensen's presentation on Helping Families Access Mental Health Services in which his ministry work at Christian Family Solutions could assist those pregnancy centers; Mr. Scott Menke's Understanding Human Behavior Through the Universal Language of DISC; Mr. Dan Albrecht's Using Google Tools to Get Things Done, using a hands-on computer lab setting at the school.
The day concluded with an overview of the work of Christian Life Resources as well as the closing devotional thought by the Christian Life Resources National Director, Pastor Robert Fleischmann, who posed the question, "Which One Is You?" -- are you a Mary or a Martha in the work? No matter which one we think we are, we should remain strong in the Lord because he is our encouragement and source of courage in a sin-stricken world.
