Easter and the Message of Life
The value we see in human life is on display during Holy Week. As the Son of God offers his life as a ransom for all life God demonstrates just how precious life is.
Yet, we are told, that if Jesus were merely a man -- who was exemplary in morality, humble in demeanor, yet victimized by injustice -- then we are to be pitied more than all other people (1 Corinthians 15:19). Without Easter, Holy Week would be merely an historical drama of injustice and tragedy.
The empty tomb makes Jesus the Savior. As we learn in Philippians 2, he took on human form, but it didn't negate the reality that he was also God. God died for our sins and lives as proof that those who die in the Lord will live forever.
It is this central teaching of Scripture that makes pro-life people, pro-life. If God places such high value on life -- all life (John 3:16) -- how can we possibly be less concerned? We do love others because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). We speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8) because when we had no voice, no standing, no defense, Jesus stepped in on our behalf. There is no way we can be less loving.
So at Easter we gather with family and friends knowing the deep meaning we have in that observance. Because of your support and prayers you help us at Christian Life Resources and New Beginnings - A Home for Mothers share that Gospel message of forgiveness and eternal life. God bless you and may the empty tomb be your cause for a Happy Easter.
